eclipse
For days nothing would be seen when I was captain of a submarine. I would yearn for clouds and rain scouring my dreams. One day we had a sudden loss of power I experienced a pain-a cardiac arrest. In retirement I am blessed with a dog named Cain fascinated with fire thunder and rain-he howls when my dreams contain flames and plays games with the pigeons that haunt our garden. When I had a heart transplant I drifted through the clouds in a submarine and confused the beating of angels wings with those of pigeons. Now as great energies advance I have taught Cain to dance to bring rain and listen to the thunder sing
tonyv
Not exactly the same thing, but very vision-quest like. (At least as far as Hollywood's depictions go.) But this is kind of a late-in-life version ... In any case, this was a pleasure to read.
