fdelano
Winter Grackles swarm to rest on bare limbs that must wait for spring to bring leaves and new life. A sudden launch and a single turn sends the dense flock south, their stencils of flight following ancient instinct. Frozen lawns go dormant under continuous days of gray and cold, keeping those of us who do not migrate close to our shelters. We tend to gather for treats and conversation to cheer us through the long, drab season. Pop the cork!
Aleksandra
Well, IMO, this poem has some mixed feelings. I like how it starts and how it brought an unexpected end. The feeling of curiosity kept growing in me to see where this poem will take me. Nice one, fdelano. :) Happy Holidays :) Aleksandra Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
Benjamin
I like the way this seems to be one of those 'pause for thought' moments that gives way to the inevitable 'why worry about things we have no control over'.Throw another log on the stove and pass the bottle mate, I'm with you all the way on this one. Nicely done. Geoff.
