dedalus
I will never sing to you again my darling dear, never raise my voice in song: no more Lieder of Schubert, no more joyous renditions of Mozart, no more wond’rous beautiful things. You sit in your study, broken-hearted, as well you ought to feel. There is an evening train, I will take the children. Frank E Gibbard
The scale of clipped form, unusually so, surprised and is in inverse proportion to the momentousness for the couple described, with few clues to who they may be. An ethnicity may be construed by the Magda naming in the title. A cultured relationship certainly, I gave this some thought helped by a few re-readings, I liked the well apart rhyme of again & TRAIN. tonyv
I agree with Frank's astute observations. I would add that despite the ethnicity of the speaker already mentioned, the sentiment and voice are similar to that of Millay's in the first poem of post number four in THIS topic. And as entertaining and provocative as your war, historical, and Bond-esque action packed works normally are, it's the lyrical poems like this one where you shine. Aleksandra
Hello dedalus. I loved this poem of yours, and the atmosphere that comes with it. I like the sound of it. Great job.
