fdelano Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 My spirits rise as the slipstream over and under the wings creates lift to launch me from the grip of gravity. Open sky pulls me into sunlit clouds, streaking mist making my climb speed visible, my only sense of acceleration. A hurried glance back at the long runway provides a sight of the short adjustable bed where I lay for more than a year. Choices enter my thoughts, asking if this is what I want most of all. A nod signals affirmation. I struggle to recall other flights with missions to destroy, but they are thankfully gone. Forever. Quote
David W. Parsley Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Great to see you back, Franklin. I was a little concerned after that last salutation. I would have recognized you as the author, whether you had signed or not. - Dave Quote
tonyv Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 The short adjustable bed depresses me, but I'm holding on to the open sky and sunlit clouds. Nice rhythm and form, Franklin. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
