Larsen M. Callirhoe Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Tribute To John Denver Many foggy mountain dreams. Yet the simple words in his poems and songs always touched those around. He found the key of life in such eloquent words he sang crisply to others. Sipping wine, sitting around campfires and fire falling from the sky. Rocky Mountain highs of Colorado always touched his simple wayward soul. On that tragic day his solo plane fell from the sky and he met his demise. So goodbye dear one your words truly touched my heart and the generation of your life. You were truly one of the greats. In your songs you lived the life only others dreamed about. In your grave I hope God gives you the serenity you gave to others in the love of your words you performed for all. Truly a great song writer and for that you will be missed. May sunshine always be on your shoulders and Rocky Mountain highs always be your joy. Quote Larsen M. Callirhoe
David W. Parsley Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Victor, I have to confess that JD is a long-standing favorite, introduced to me by my wife when we were budding high school sweethearts. Not around to finish experiencing the "change [that] is somehow frightening," I hope he found the "sky all on fire" (his variation on a favorite theme in "Song of Wyoming") and a true home at the end of his unique country road. And perhaps a great big feather bed? Appreciate the heart-felt toast. - Dave Quote
tonyv Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 A loveley tribute, Victor. Thoughts of John Denver take me back to elementary school when the music teacher would pick up her guitar and take us down that "Country Road" ...
