Frank E Gibbard
In an upper room of a suburban house, Lowering her eyes from the pop pin-up Photo above a bed a woman lies down, Head on a soft pillow. "God, it's so hard," She says, slipping under the eiderdown, Her body moulding into a foetal shape. Here her little girl had nightly taken ease Sweet memory of Mum's kiss, now she's Gone, her little pearl. She'll so miss this, Those many magic moments they shared Young, innocent, with freckles, often scared; Now it's me, she thought, who's unprepared, A hollow in a bed , and life to be remade.
