Serenading You

I want to sing you my tune

and say I love you.

But, sometimes words fail my thoughts

and makes the heart crash to this rock

like a fallen star from the heights

of the night sky passing us on by.

I just want to hold you in my arms

and tell you how much I am in love.

Why do you eschew me like I am the one

that insipidly your day you say?

When it is you that brightens mine!

I love you more then lyrics do.

So why do you heave rocks at me

like I am a luminous shadow

of creepiness lurking overhead.

When it really isn’t this way at all!

I want to hold your hand

close to my heart. I want to

bring you flowers everyday

and tell you how sincere I am

and you are worth to me

more then all the gold

in the world don‘t you know.

I would promise you passion

like a gushing waterfall. If only you

would just trust me like an newborn.

I would give you my life and more

if you would just give me the chance

I am asking for from thee.

I want to serenade you all night long

and pluck your body as divine as it is.

So please give me the chance

to breathe with you

is all I am asking from you.

Ah! the uncertainty, anxiety and reverence of unrequited love. I'm almost moved to say, "be careful what you wish for.." .... but I won't.
