Just Ordinary People

Everytime you look at me,

the way you look in my eyes,

it tells me everything I need to know.

If tomorrow never came our way,

or if yesterday was forgotten off the face of Earth,

Would you still love me the same way?

Or would you still remember me all just the same?

This is all that appears to matter to me.

You see my heart yearns for you like no other.

Like a newborn wants its mothers milk

I always want you to be near me.

You see I will take you to the stars

if I could and back if you like.

Or think it would help

if all the while I told you I love you

and, that I am madly in love with you all the same.

I am who I am just the way I should be for you.

But, yet I still hurt deep down inside.

You see I live with this fear in me,

I am afraid of losing you.

What could be worse than this for newlyweds?

I am afraid of living without you?

And, I am afraid of dieing without you?

But, what can I do to change my thoughts

without your help to guide my way?

As time passes by everyone sees

a part of each other in one another.

If I could just touch your heart

and bring you flowers in the springtime.

If I could just remember your name if I could?

I would write you a love song and sing it to you

with conviction from the bottom of my heart.

I promise you this and to comfort you in my arms.

Just remember from the beginning of time

all I ever wanted to do was hold you by my side

and dance with you till the end of time.

if I were to crumble at least you would here my plea.

I know I have broken your radiant heart,

I only ask darling will you let me mend it

and make this love story a happy ending.

We can sail on the ocean blue sailing

as the calm tides fade into the sunset

and the rain falls softly on our bodies.

I know the poet, so I know this is based in reality. It's looking forward from the past and competently expressed. I particularly liked:

I am afraid of living without you

And, I am afraid of dieing without you

and the last verse is especially lovely:

if I were to crumble at least you would here my plea.

I know I have broken your radiant heart,

I only ask darling will you let me mend it

and make this love story a happy ending.

We can sail on the ocean blue sailing

as the calm tides fade into the sunset

and the rain falls softly on our bodies.

"Mend it" and "ending" has a nice ring to it. Nice work, Victor.

hi tony i actually flowered up a few lines so the poem had a lyrical beat and cadance and flowing rhythm to it.

I am doing so good in school. i am about to finish my 4th and 5th classes with A's. that will mean 5 classes and 5 A's. i am tired because it requires a lot of reading and studying.

hope all is well with you sir.

Hi Victor, This was lovely. I particularly liked:

If tomorrow never came our way,

or if yesterday was forgotten off the face of Earth,

Would you still love me the same way?

Or would you still remember me all just the same?

Thanks for the nice read... ~~Tink
