Frank E Gibbard
A climatic turn we made upon our trek going to the moon. Attained a height in Man's story of man and woman's journey. A technical transport of delight, an ascent way beyond balloon. Far far on from early steps, via wheels, motor car, train then aeroplane. From a slow Stephenson's to faster Von Braun rocket, red flag led and horseless carriages, or automobiles. Some will still try to block it, "if God'd intended," they'll say, meaning - "unknown go away." But brave worlds won't slow down. Frontiers beyond own grounds as Columbus found to fly to where our futures lie. (Edit:spell/error corrected - with thanks to DC).

Benjamin
Onward and upward human nature progresses inexorably like the apes straightening up and looking at the stars in Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C.Clarke's film 2001.

David W. Parsley
Timely tribute, Frank, with the passing of a truly heroic figure who went in peace for all of us to step large onto the tranquil sea of that other world. - Dave
