eclipse
I managed to save your halo before they lowered you into the grave, the sound of mourners tears echoed across the devils rooftop and the wind blew open the pages of the photo album of my mind pictures were burned by the fires of time. From the funeral I returned home to the drone of hailstones hitting the roof. My skeleton heart sought proof and nourishment in the moonlit walks across the Humber bridge of our youth. A page of photographs was missing the light failed and the moon was revealed by clouds passing- you joined me for a night time walk across the bridge in a moving photograph. Benjamin
I like this: The mood is explicit and yet at the same time has a tacit quality about it. I frequently use the bridge which is a well known beauty spot; although more than 200 incidents of people jumping or falling from the bridge have taken place since it was opened in 1981. B. David W. Parsley
Melancholy, contemplative, evocative, nostalgic. I like it, Barry. Particularly nice is the sense of preservation in the memory, the sense of continuity. - Dave
JoelJosol
The recollection was placed in the context of the surreal. (Eclipse, I was just distracted by the "pictures were burned" part. I had a hard time imagining being in an album but burned. Possibly fragments?)
