Something for Halloween

Recommended Posts

Third Dimension  (a Quaterion)

Forgotten in a tight airless attic,
a thing that was to prove problematic,
a Halloween reflective diorama
in reenactment of a psychodrama.

The shoebox, webbed and painted black,
a tiny coffin's cedar lid drawn back,
inside a body stiff in death, an axe
imbedded in the head, a final tax.

A challenge to create this poematic
with ghoulish display in frightful panorama.
The sounds with screeching tone, elegiac
and words don't always tell the lonely facts.

i liked it...

"Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends.

There is a secret song at the center of the world, Joey, and its sound is like razors through flesh."

"I don't believe you."

"Oh come, you can hear its faint echo right now. I'm here to turn up the volume.

To press the stinking face of humanity into the dark blood of its own secret heart."

"There's a starving beast inside my chest
playing with me until he's bored
Then, slowly burying his tusks in my flesh
crawling his way out he rips open old wounds

When I reach for the knife placed on the bedside table
its blade reflects my determined face
to plant it in my chest
and carve a hole so deep it snaps my veins

Hollow me out, I want to feel empty"
-- "Being Able To Feel Nothing" by Oathbreaker

"Sky turns to a deeper grey

the sun fades by the moon

hell's come from the distant hills

tortures dreams of the doomed

and they pray, yet they prey

and they pray, still they prey"
-- "Still They Prey" by Cough

Needing a bit of clarification of this an intriguing one for me Tink. I'll reserve comment. Did spot a wee typo embedded not impedded I think.

Tinker, I get the picture of no one using this item anymore. Forgotten and lonely gave them away for me. But you did not offer us insight why it was problematic :-)

Hi Tink, enjoyed the form and mood, the aura of language. If you decide to revise, another stanza to shed some oblique light on some of the questions above, would retain the mystery and tie it down just a bit.

P.S. Is the form quaterion, or quaternion (a mathematical form for describing moving bodies with six degrees of freedom)?
