Frank E Gibbard
Mm, now let me see, a moment's thought should suffice as I do perceive you to be a servant lady and cook of some years in a job you execute with some applomb. That apron gives you away, quite plainly you cater for say two single men I'll be bound. I would warrant a tenure held for nigh on twenty or I will hazard erm more precisely if I should postulate, two and twenty years at 221B Baker Street. Aha! am I not exactly and exquisitely, precisely right? And it is a certain Mrs Hudson I'm addressing, are you not? our very trusty housekeeper I can positively presume if I am not very much mistaken. And as you and Watson know that is something I never am. For sweet heaven's sake Mr Holmes do we have to go through this same malarkey each blessed day, really? Will you want two or one egg today? dedalus
My goodness, Frank! How dare you knock a national institution? Have to say I always found Mr Holmes unbearably supercilious ... and therefore took delight in this light-hearted piece! Benjamin
Basil Rathbone shines out from my childhood memories for this little sketch, thanks for the prompt Frank.
