The Reflection of Winter Solstice 2012

Nothing is a something

We wait all our lives

and when it arrives

this nothing this empty

the hollow behind

all good and solid

and behold its one

and the same

the fear

too personal too close

unpacked linking this

to that and that to this

ever widening all one

of everything as readily

as the opposite and

secretly you wanted

to believe in turning

from the grey dream

and shake yourself

awake into a technicolor

end a cycle turbulent and

communal bigger than you

your apocalypse and rebirth

every second every day

all of the us the we

remembering remembering

But the something that is nothing

never forgets and improbably

reminds the Sun to

return again.

Contemplative like a pebble in the pool-- most apt for this particular solstice. Hope my pebble doesn't bounce on ice. Best...B.

David W. Parsley

Seconded

thoughtfully.

Best,

Good stuff, but the gaps - the far distance between the stepping stones - are too large: we cannot safely cross the stream!

Drown your sorrows in drink, by all means, but the real sorrows can swim
