dedalus
It is not love but need that attracts yet facts so cold can hardly hold a turbulent imagination. There go all your Hollywood movies, there go all your wartime songs. A man needs a woman. A woman needs a man from the time that human life began everything, everything, everything … the troubadours, romantic novels, even adolescent pop songs mirror this fascination. Benjamin
A dance of life no less! Nicely upbeat and let's face it... who wants to escape it?
dcmarti1
I am learning that some troubadours had some VERY raunchy poems. Who knew? I agree with Benjamin: upbeat.

tonyv
A lyrical study of the lyrical tradition. I like it a lot, Brendan. I actually have a few suggestions. Drop the last five lines, revise one of the verses, and rip off George Benson for the couplet, so it looks like this: It is not love but need that attracts yet facts so cold can hardly hold a turbulent imagination. There go all your Hollywood movies there go all your clubland songs: And the girl became a woman Every woman needs a man ... I love the girl, I love the woman ... [last line optional to make it less sexist!!!] I'd lose the question mark in the title, too. Just call it Dance. I dunno. Might swing the pendulum to lyrical?
