Angling

There a pair,

pinned in time and light,

borne by swells and ebbs,

in moments of lure and anticipation.

Riffles, inviting and daring,

pass with a wink.

There a dapple, cast quick!

Thrill of the tug,

smug with skill.

Quickly in, and lovingly released with pride,

each thanks the other

for such a lovely ride.

I enjoyed the reading and imagery. Done my share of fishing in my guilty past now a convert to the view it's a blood "sport." sorry to get politically correct a fitter me might have been a hunt saboteur just to boo the pink jackets. Can't imagine the lured enjoys the ride I'm afraid. Just a personal hang-up.
