Tinker Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 #3 US National Poetry Month is April, Poets challenged to write one poem a day for the month of April. A moment before sleep This early April sky, grey darkened by night, moistened by recent rain and cooled by a north wind, invites me to lower my lids and drift into the starlight that prinks its plain.---------- ~~ Judi Van Gorder Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to [email protected]
badger11 Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Prinks was an unusual choice Tink, but I think plays nicely with plain. badge Quote
Tinker Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Thanks Badger, I have used the word a few times in poems I have written. "prink" is an archaic word but I have loved it since I discovered it. As in this poem, it seems a perfect substitute for "decorated' which is a clunky word. I'm on a mission to revive "prink" to its rightful place among fun sounds. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to [email protected]
