douglas
Today I'll throw myself in front of you Upon the ground Among the leaves With white arms extended And then I'll weep Exposing my tears for you To consume That's what you want from me after all Isn't it? To lay myself low before you In sorrow and humiliation You get your kicks from tricks Like this But beware Because as you bend down To drink from my eyes I shall rise up And step over you Leaving you and your cruelty Within the shadows and silhouettes Of this dark forest Quote To receive love, you have to give it... dcmarti1
I shall rise up And step over you I like how you depart with far greater respect than that which was exhibited by the other person. You simply leave but the other actively denigrates. Very nice contrast. I am too inherently lazy to be vindictive: that smacks of effort. :)
Tinker
Hi Douglas this poem has great emotional pull. It is dramatic and I thought the pivot well timed which prevented it from becoming overly dramatic. Good balance. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
