When Life Comes At You

It stuns near the end

to discover every instant

meant exactly what you

took away that day

when you finally realized

that you must get over yourself

to consider the effects of all

your impulses and actions

your choices changing

everything forward

adding to or detracting

from the total

a process that does not end

until there are no more decisions

left to you alone and you become

subject to the choosing of others

Wow, Those last three lines are REALLY stark. But in the poetic, dramatic way. Certainly there is truth in them, they were just written powerfully.

When I worked on this a few years ago, I realized that not being in control of myself was my biggest fear. You caught me, Marti.

I agree with Marti. The last three lines convey a strong thought.

Piling on the last three lines, Paco. Wow.
