Tinker
Sport of Kings One snappish morning, latein Spring he arrivesbefore the early birds sing.An eager foal, bornto the land, all knees and hocks, struggling to stand. In time his legs will dothe deed and poundwith power, poise and speedwith fluid movementand stunning graceto claim the day and win the race. His strong neck leadswith flash of manewhile muscled sinew stretches longto plow the turf below his hooves.Esteemed by man; the sport of kingssince time began. ---Judi Van Gorder haiku #61 Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
