Thoughts in a soldier's mind (Quatrains & internal rhymes)

With all our might , why do we fight , is there any reason ?
Houses burning , Spouses burning , each house turned Garrison
Felt exciting , we kept fighting , with utmost precision
All it will mar , this bloody war , imposed act of treason

Some will savage , Some will ravage , to heal their suffered pain
Shoot who escape , someone will rape ,to lessen their mind's strain
Attitudes change, toward's revenge , sufferer's mind will stain
No sanctity , No purity , Life's value will disdain

Governance's fault , Youth'll revolt , will resort to weapon
snatched with all might , what was our right, with force back be taken
Which is a must- That pious trust , Permanently shaken
By god's own will , Shades of devil , In their minds awaken

Rehabilitate- Rejuvenate- but this act of traversal
Despite good will - won't ever heal - not capable of reversal

Raw, almost visceral. Perhaps that's why I like it. "Governance's fault." Exactly.

What if "we the people" could make peace break out?

A slice of stark reality that makes one wonder, we never seem to learn that.. "like begets like". Benjamin.

I suspect you are right - no reversal.

It mostly boils down to greed, I suspect.

Instinctually human, I am afraid.

A bit of a tour-de-force, this.

Hi, I think you captured exactly what the title implies. And let me approach this from a little different angle than the rest, I thought the frame of this piece fit the content beautifully. It was orderly, sharp, concise, very military. Loved it.
