fdelano
I want to be large enough to straddle the Blue Ridge, ride it without reins or halter, romp across the valley, feel the mountain air breeze through my hair as I and my razor-back steed splash along the flow of the river below. Let ancient stones roll and twisted trees fall as I rearrange topography in frenzied fantazy. Let it all be mine. Never mind. It is already, I, loafing on my backyard deck. dcmarti1
Let it all be mine. Never mind.It is already. Lovely! Oh, I gasped. I recalled the line from Richard Wilbur's Two Voices in a Meadow where the milkweed replies to the stone's stanza: What power had IBefore I learned to yield?Shatter me, great wind:I shall possess the field. dr_con
A fun piece and indeed: A zen Story. A monk and his master receive an invitation to a distant party at another monastery. The master asks the monk "are you going to the party." The monk dances around has conversations to the air and finally falls down as if drunk and sleeps. He gets up and replies: " No need I already did." Yes that's what this reminds me of! ;-) Juris Quote thegateless.org

moonqueen
I immediately think of Paul Bunyon and Babe. This is quite entertaining. Enjoyed immensely. t
Benjamin
Lovely imagery that promotes thoughts of freedom as a state of mind. "Let ancient stones roll andtwisted trees fall" a phrase well worth stealing.. (hope you don't have a gun!) G.
fdelano
Funny, T. I actually imagined I was Paul Bunyan when I was young and had to split wood. G., I have two weapons and wish for more. Haven't fired one for more than twenty years, but I know how. ;)

fdelano
GK, it's yours, but you have to do the maintenance. Pay is two beers a day and all the acorns you can eat. ;)
