JoelJosol
I once read a poet who wrote a brief poem he said something like the shortest distance between two points is love. Were those points eyes I would have believed him. But mathematicians will disagree, citing Euclid's axiom number one. So, I tried again, one more time approaching the water crashing by the boat's side with its thousand moving points. Tap my shoulder and turn my face to you. Do I see an end-point in your eyes? I think I like what I see. Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
Aleksandra
Wonderful Joel. And now you are doing some mix of your old and new style. I do remember when you was writing logic and mathematical poem. All of them had deep sense in the meaning of the life. Now this one. is deep also, and very wise. Good points my friend. The end - is amazing Aleksandra Quote The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth - Jean Cocteau History of Macedonia
JoelJosol
Thank you, Aleksandra. This is my favorite genre but as you note I tried to apply some new approaches on it so it doesn't turn out too obvious or sentimental. tonyv
The shortest distance/between two points is love is quite poetic, and the way you say that you read it in a poem makes for a clever effect. The way you describe the water with its thousand moving points is lovely. And I agree with Alek: the end is fantastic. I especially like the last line -- I think I like what I see. Well done! Bloodyday
Do I see an end-point in your eyes? I think I like what I see. one sided thoughts always put me in jeopardy, what she thinks about me. but i was right, she didn't love me. But the feelings of loving her is true like the sun is true or the moon. i always think i like what i see, and that's the way i do!
JoelJosol
Thank you too, Tony and Bloodyday. Tony, you captured the highlights of the poem. Bloodyday and Tony, those were really brave lines from my end to say.
