The Irritations of Bradley Loselove

At Home

Abuse this illusion
For the night
Drive your hands over it
Around it
Then leave with the reality
Of dawn
Leave with your
Sanctimonious reality.

At Trying a New Angle

The 17th of May
Saw him having a truly
Selfish relationship
Progressive
Independent
Convenient
But how the heart still ached
Deep down
There
In the centre.

At The Club

Ooooooh!
I was finished for your outfit!
Talk about Donatella Versace!
And all of that eau de toilette!
You certainly left a lingering reminder
And the way those cigarettes
Floated between those fingers
Very elegant!
But I was finished for the
Overfull ashtray next to you
And the ten or so beer cans
All very empty!

To receive love, you have to give it...

Oh, that dual usage of "I was finished".....flippin' brilliant! Oh, I SO understand this poem. Well, I remember these situations "at the club".
