Larsen M. Callirhoe
Saint Peter’s Gates I had an out of body experience. I thought I had died but I realized it was not my time for only time will tell indeed. I hear God calling my name. Will I find the freedom I am so desperately seeking as I enter Saint Peter’s Gates. Will I be allowed thru with all the nonsense in my life will I find tranquility and peace that I have been searching for my whole life. I use to swim in a pool all the time. That is what it feels like to float in heaven. I hear the radio playing. Oh ooo Oh o I hear the drums beating being played by a rock group called Coldplay. I hear them singing a song called Viva La Vida.. The tune sticks in my head. Viva La Vida will you let me thru Saint Peter this day. As I am buried in my grave and see the coffin lowered from up above. Will God be calling my name and will I be on Saint Peter’s list of those that are redeemed. As I pray to the Goddess my spirit is in limbo in Purgatory. Will she let me thru Saint Peter’s Gates. This I do pray. Oh why did I have to die alone. Will God let me question him. These are the things that trouble my heart, mind, and soul. Will Saint Peter be calling my name. Am I on the list of those redeemed. It is hotter then hell outside. This I do know. Am I dreaming of you my love. Will we meet in Heaven. I hear the church bells ringing. The drums are beating. The Angels are singing. But all I want to know is will I be entering Saint Peter’s Gates. As I wake I realize I was only dreaming. My prayers were answered. I will be entering Saint Peter’s gates but it will not be this day. In my dreams that night and early morning I was revealed my soul mate. Her name was Elizabeth. Her name means consecrated to God in an oath or an oath of God that is consecrated. I know in ten years I will be entering Saint Peter’s Gates. I will be on the list of those redeemed. I will marry my bride Elizabeth that day. I hear Saint Peter calling my name. He says the Goddess loves me so. She loves all her children so. I hear the church bells ringing. I feel my heart beating. It is a glorious day to be alive and eating. I hear the drums beating. I hear the tune Viva La Vida being sung by the rock group Coldplay. This is what triggered my dream. Yes I will be entering Saint Peter’s gates but that will be in the future. Quote Larsen M. Aleksandra
Dear Victor, this is wonderful poem. You captured very deep questions like in this part: Will I be allowed thru with all the nonsense in my life will I find tranquility and peace that I have been searching for my whole life Also in this poem you use wonderful expressions. I love this one: As I am buried in my grave Imageries here are so beautiful: I hear the church bells ringing. The drums are beating. The Angels are singing. But all I want to know is will I be entering Saint Peter’s Gates. The name of Elizabeth is so used in your poetry, and I know what is the meaning, and also I think one day in a future you can publish a book called: " For you, my Elizabeth " Really I like that you with almost every poem of yours, you are making a composition. I like your inspiration, from the song Viva La Vida I think means : To live the life? or something like that, I can't say proper on English language, but I know what means exactly. So Victor my friend I love this poem and the way how it goes. Also I think that this poem can be revised , and you can make shorter and with that will become more powerful, because in the first half of the poem you told almost everything and that in so good way, so you can skip some parts, who are like in a shadow if you compare with the rest of the poem. Thank you for sharing my friend, and I am so happy to see you in such a poetical and writing mood. Take care . pawn shop
As you know, I'm a believer in Christianity ! I love the poem because you start out unsure if your worthy enough..... who doesn't go thru that You have a lot of things in this poem that are powerfully cool.... it's very Catholic....I love it ! tonyv
I like the references to the rock group and the name of the song; they give the poem a contemporary edge. I also appreciate these lines a lot: Will I be allowed thru with all the nonsense in my life. The poem seems to toggle between dream and reality, where out of body eventually returns to earth. There is a peacefulness in the last lines: Yes I will be entering Saint Peter’s gates but that will be in the future.
