september morn

Its early September morn

and the air is perfectly still

the trees stand frozen in place

ignoring the morning chill

the green dewy leaves glisten

as they feed from the light

of the rising star

giving hope to the seedlings

budding below

that haven’t quite made it

that far

a piercing gust

sneaks in from the west

reminding us winter is

coming

It’ll be till spring when

the song bird sings

or I gaze upon a humming

bird humming

A fitting hopeful and melancholic piece for the 'between' month of September;-)

Marvelous!
