Michelangelo and the mermaid

A mermaid moves through Michelangelo's
dream-of flawless form she strips him of his
vision , charcoals her face on his chest, shows
her faded face briefly as he wakes. Myths
are made by mermaids scoring symphony's
about an Italian painter who hunts the streets
in search of a visage-he maps fully
faces with eyes hinting at exotic rites
realised during dreams configured
to bring the dreamer closer to a state
shared by mermaids. To be transfigured
out of time by Dionysus's gilded plate.
Ghostly tears fall through eyes on a ceiling
an artist hears sirens below humming.

REALLY ambiguous. Exotic could be read so many ways: mystic, erotic, dangerous, etc. Admiring the freedom in which you write.....
