The Season of the Snake

The Season of the Snake

It is the season of the living dead
A time when the snake bites twice
And human flesh starts paying its price
This is the time of the rancid delta
A time when the green frog burps out
Its sticky venom
And transforms itself into a black sorcerer

I find that my cheek doesn't fit into the tree trunk
Anymore because it can see
The ancient curse pouring out upon this earth
Nature has become angry
She has turned her noble head
Against humanity

It is the season of the universal stained heart
And this time it’s ripping quantum time apart
Standing upon Idolatry’s shores
Poking fun at truth and severing the roots
So that our world no longer sees

A subtle separation has begun
Blind men committing crimes
That cannot be undone
This is the moment of the Bleeding Eyeball
The ultimate fall of man
And angels relinquish their power
And move in caravans across the bleak
Scarred desert
Toward the Bleeding Soul
Whose secrets although so close
Shall now remain untold

This New Age is aging and losing its momentum
Giving way to scorn and lies
Which flow out from rotten institutions
Temples of the dead society
Of man
The transient path of carnal greed
And vacuous solutions

To receive love, you have to give it...

This piece's internal rhyming caught my attention and made it enjoyable read.

One might also call this "The Doom of Ouroboros."

I liked it's use of allegory and symbolism as imagery.

A very lovecraft or Black Sabbath level of doom like sense to this --

I know I got a more societal allegory out of it.

I think this is the most doomy piece I've read from you,

it's always a tantalizing read when doom's involved;

keep the good quality doom coming.

"Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends.

There is a secret song at the center of the world, Joey, and its sound is like razors through flesh."

"I don't believe you."

Pinhead

"Oh come, you can hear its faint echo right now. I'm here to turn up the volume.

To press the stinking face of humanity into the dark blood of its own secret heart."

"There's a starving beast inside my chest
playing with me until he's bored
Then, slowly burying his tusks in my flesh
crawling his way out he rips open old wounds

When I reach for the knife placed on the bedside table
its blade reflects my determined face
to plant it in my chest
and carve a hole so deep it snaps my veins

Hollow me out, I want to feel empty"

"Sky turns to a deeper grey

the sun fades by the moon

hell's come from the distant hills

tortures dreams of the doomed

and they pray, yet they prey

and they pray, still they prey"
