Brought it to the size of the mirror,he set himself

With great art to copy all that he saw in the glass

John Ashbery

Beyond my mirror

the faces

watching

they are attracted

to the vacuum

Inside the mirror, gestures

mimicking

life.

This compact poem reads like a clever self portrait: the narrator is watched; his observers are somehow shallow; the narrator watches back.

watching.....vacuum...mimicking....

I love the title.....but that's it.

Way too ambiguous for me........

not a good poem, in my dear consideration.....esp. for September....
