Benjamin Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Grey squirrels-- after eighty years; usurped officially the fiefdom of our Red. And footpaths through the ever shrinking woods are asphalt, for the pram-faced girls and skate board boys; whose pocket-knife obscenities demean donated bench memorials. Chancers arise! And when the shouting's done our Spring is back, with a resilience of daffodils; that peer into the wind as though they have some other place to be. Quote
fdelano Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 And footpaths through our ever shrinking woods are asphalt, for the pram-faced girls and skate board boys; whose pocket-knife obscenities demean donated bench memorials. A generational gap widening, values discarded, nothing respected. No doubt past generations thought the same. Wonderfully expressed. Paco Quote

dr_con Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I agree with the above! Stunning and deeply enjoyable. Definitely Spring has Sprung (@ least among the PMO fellows;-) Thanks Geoff for sharing! Juris Quote thegateless.org
Frank E Gibbard Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Beautifully sums up the generational deterioration in youth , what some call chavvy types sadly abound from your apt description, and so well put. Loved pram-faced phrase. Frank Quote
tonyv Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 How well crafted! An intriguing title qualified with ten lines of impeccable meter to yield a conceit that's not too long, not too short, just right, perfect.
