The thing is, you know,

not to hope or indicate,

 

nor intimate nor gesture,

nor show any shadow, nor any ghost

of non-agreement

 

as if one expects to be accepted

within twenty years. I live

in a world of open indribbling love

 

involving women and gay men,

all of whom I like and cheerfully abuse,

 

preserving the sanctity

of my ivory pimpled buttocks

 

and warding away

the wilder women.
