Frank E Gibbard
The state of the world borders on dire where massed bodies moulder in their graves. A lone flag of liberty meekly waves, among competing fields of fire. Enclosed enclave of too closed minds enslaves. History's unwavering chains clanks a requiem for its ghostly choir. The tired old refrain remains like birds on a wire, that god is on one only side one way too the wind blows: to suicide. War fed by unholy smoke the sick joke inanity wed to insanity mad inhumanity. For what one asks is a self defence for this offence nay pretence, from whence?
Benjamin
Powerful stuff Frank... How often do we hear that victors write the history. Perhaps God is just an intangible excuse manipulated by mankind in order to justify the unjustifiable. The real enemy-- is inherent, feral and paranoid. For any formula that (voluntarily) promotes peace, the humane, civilization and decency, as a way of living on this planet--- has yet to quell the burgeoning dark side of human nature. David W. Parsley
Hi Frank, reminds me of a poem I recently read in the Hudson Review, lamenting the fact that poets have been ignored for a long time now. So who does have the microphone now? Is it just the extremists listening to themselves in a self-destructive blog? Has the message of inclusion and tolerance really narrowed to a thoughtful few? Thanks, - Dave

badger11
The tired old refrain remains like birds on a wire, that god is on one only side Timely Frank. And now for certain we know the Arab spring was a false hope.

JoelJosol
You captured in a few words the history of religion and wars."The tired old refrain remains like birds on a wire, that god is on one only sideone way too the wind blows: to suicide."
