You live in my heart,

you live in my mind,

and when last night,

with wine taken,

I called to you,

you turned away.

The sun by day is king,

and the moon by evening

draws young lovers together,

healing the wounds of the passing hours.

They say if you pray at this shrine

three times, all will be well;

I have prayed six times

and nothing has changed.

Barefoot, I climb to the top of the mountain,

and with bloodied feet I shall call out your name;

I shall dive to the depths of the ocean

in search of strange pearls to enhance your fame.

In the morning when I arise,

and in the evening when I lay myself down,

your name will languish on my lips,

and I must ask myself if this is sane or wise,

but it is neither,

it is simply the way of young men

with the ladies that they love.

Drown your sorrows in drink, by all means, but the real sorrows can swim

Thanks, lads, but I don't know. I have a creeping feeling that some essential piece is missing. But I suppose we all feel that way with the poems we are attached to!

I think what it is lacking (If I put myself in your attached place;-) is an anchor - it feels a bit ephemeral BUT, I found that to be part of the charm and one of the reasons I called it perfect, since its almost wistful insubstantiality is very much like a young man's love;-)
