Terminal

I'm terminal
But I'm grateful
I'm past the half way mark
But l'm still appreciative

Slowly
Gradually
I'm learning that stress
Is not worth it
Or what it's about

Nor is cruelty
Or worry or pride or strife

Peace and generosity and love
Is what life truly asks of us

At the end of the day
As I count down
Toward the closing
Off of all of this
I realise that the attainment of
Beauty is all
That the soul
Requires

To receive love, you have to give it...

I like this because it made me feel good on a bad day. Perhaps you could lose the opening "Terminal" though . Apart from overstating the title it makes for a stuttering start to what is an essentially free flowing and enjoyable piece. G.

Thank you Benjamin - and I am glad that it helped to lift you up on a bad day!!!!! In terms of the suggestion - it was just a repeat of the title when I cut and pasted the poem in - I have removed it though - ;)
