Waiting

There’s just silence now
My head feels calm
And my body’s motion
Is in rhythm with the
Moon’s face again

Life’s serenity has come back to visit me
And wrapped me up in hope and power
Simplicity sits next to me
On the tube in the morning
And my eyes don’t scream at me
For being open during the day

My heart beat dances
With my rejoicing blood
My lungs expand with generous breaths

All this I feel
- A satisfied sense of sentimentality -
Which prevails
Despite the battle wounds of love

All this I feel
As I sit feeling slightly numb
Anticipating your return from Rome...

To receive love, you have to give it...

Really liked that part. The ending was totally unexpected, nothing like what I thought was the cause of the situation. I was guessing a final PARTING at this line:

Despite the battle wounds of love
