Pariah

The crushing punishment of your silences
Weighing down my soul
With a deep, mournful contrition

An effective, invisible weapon
Handled with precision
To judge and chastise
My vulnerabilities and imperfections

And the quiet, burning twist within my chest
Whispering guilt, regret and shame
As each day passes with reticence
Crushing my spirit
And making me feel like a pariah
For having unravelled

This static, relentless castigation
A sentence for my offences
A transparent spear
Negating me

To receive love, you have to give it...

Your versatility shows. The London poem is heartfelt, but so is this....at the opposite end of the relationship pendulum.

"Transparent spear".....nice literary phrase.

Yes, that is a nice image. With an edge!
