dr_con Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Other people's poems When it is finished or at least written no longer is it yours Not given away more likely released into the wild that doesn’t capture but moves in a direction we recognize When I write ‘A bright red Cardinal plays with Chickadees amidst early morning shine among ornamentals planted by someone else I think of August’s Blackberries poems for my wedding and daily meditations’ I flatter myself a written record my moment made universal! Upon Hearing Old pieces curated and read by Others how absurd ownership me and mine It belongs to Them They were there for the Birth and the lifetimes of preparation The Cardinal and Chickadees and Blackberries Transubstantiate Poetry’s Blood and Flesh and if we are lucky and empty enough we can taste it again and again. David W. Parsley Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Doc. You are messing with my vacation. I just looked in, to see how things are going and found this lovely gem. I could not leave without paying my respects, glad this poem found me "empty enough" to receive and make it mine. A keeper! Many Many Thanks! - Dave (a.k.a. Them...) Quote

Benjamin Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Some great lines-- I particularly liked the thought stream of the opening two stanzas. Much enjoyed. G. Quote

Just got married (again;-), or rather for the second time in my life, plus the pressing needs of other parts of my creative life, and I have been absent, and must apologize for not responding to your wonderful comments! I feel honored to know you all! Juris Quote thegateless.org
