eclipse
My dead wife took a candle's flame stretching, throwing it over the moon, emptying all memories, dreams from life, with recall of our first child-flames leapt, I swallowed fire. My dead son came seeking liberating fire for his candle, in life we hardly spoke, he went deep into my dreams to find our last conversation which was about his mother who died in a great blaze. tonyv
I would love to know what inspired this poem, Barry. It reminds me of Longfellow's "The Cross of Snow." It puts me in the same mood.
