Tinker Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 My Don Quixote Why do I keep charging windmills? Rebuking ills. What creates my craving to try? Asking why. When will the urgency dispel? Hunger quell. Citizens clashing where I dwell. Injustice spikes issues in the news. Friends, family sport different views Rebuking ills, asking why, hunger quell. ~~Judi Van Gorder Ovillejo Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
dcmarti1 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Definitely like the reuse of the short lines as the last line. Great choice of subject. Quote
Tinker Posted August 29, 2017 Author Posted August 29, 2017 Thanks Marti, A new form Badge found. Not exactly new, the first Ovillejo was included in Cervantes original Don Quixote. It was fun to write. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com

tonyv Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 This one's tight, Judi. It's very present day, and the turmoil is not unfamiliar. There's a realistic balance between the theoretical (the "windmills," the "views") and the practical (the hunger). Tinker Posted September 4, 2017 Author Posted September 4, 2017 Thanks again Tony. These forms take on a life of their own once you start writing. ~~Judi Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
