Dee2
You say what I need to hear, which is one of the reasons I love you. A word, A look, A touch, A feeling that you understand what I’m feeling and you understand what I’m wanting and you know that I understand you in much the same way. The way you look at me when we go out somewhere, to a party, or maybe to dinner, where others will see us and think, “They look happy together.” And we’ll know that they’re right. tonyv
Dee, this reads well. It has song-like characteristics. The repetition works. Tony PS -- Eastern MA? I grew up in Eastern MA and am there almost every day. We'll have to meet up for coffee/brunch sometime. Dee2
Thanks, Tony. I grew up in central NY, but my wife and I have lived in Franklin, MA for 24 years (after 15 years bouncing from Boston to Framingham, Watertown, Sharon, and Norfolk). And coffee/brunch sounds good. Tinker
Wow Dee, I really enjoyed reading this. Nice frame for a touching poem. I even felt the centering added to the content when usually I think of centering as distracting and gimmicky. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
Dee2
Thanks, Tink. I agree that centering can be gimmicky, but I thought it worked here because of the major differences in line length.
