Larsen M. Callirhoe
Angels Singing To Me My body temperature rises to 104.7 degrees Fahrenheit. I hear angels sing to me. Is it my time to go I ask? I listen to the song Viva La Vida sung by coldplay. I can’t get this tune out of my head. It is a very eerie song. In the nighttime I sleep alone. Does God hear my crying plea to end the suffering I am going through. I hear Angels sing to me in my dreams. They tell me it is not my time to go, but God will comfort me one day. This is my hope. To be free of paralysis. What a nightmare I have entered. I have cried out to God many nights. Sometimes I think he just doesn’t care. Yes I know God exists. I have had Near Death Experiences that have validated God for me. This faith is the only way I can endure. I know atheists try to reason God off. I just wish I could explain to them that God is the truth. I have built my faith in God like a castle built in stone. All I want is to be with my Elizabeth and have the Holy Spirit sing to us. Viva La Vida means To live the life. Being paralyzed couldn’t be all my life is cracked up to be. I have to have faith in a higher power or intelligent design. It was the wicked wild wind that left me crying every night. This time I thought I was close to death. I have had visions of dying soon. So I know my time is short. I have less than ten years to explain Sophia to my nephews Mason and Jonah. This is to be my lot in life. I love Sophia God’s wife. She is the Holy Spirit to me. I wish I could explain her to others. Angels sing to me words about her every night in my vivid wild dreams. Will Saint Peter call my name soon so I may enter God’s domain and stop my crying to God in heaven. Quote Larsen M. dr_con
Larsen, Self doubt, the condition of suffering and the images of holy belief in something beyond this world: Powerful Stuff I have less than ten years to explain Sophia to my nephews Mason and Jonah. This is to be my lot in life. I love Sophia God’s wife. She is the Holy Spirit to me. I wish I could explain her to others. This is the gnostic Sophia, the female half of the Logos- Your poetry could be said to be your Logos. Have you read Pagels? Sophia I highly recommend her explorations of Sophia- Personally, I do not see a need to argue with atheists, surely god encompasses their belief as well? As you may know, I consider myself politically an atheist, while still believing in Sophia and the Logos, but I have not suffered as you have, so can not have clarity on your situation. Well done poem by the way, I feel poetically it could be condensed and convey a little more angst, but that is, of course, just an opinion. Many Thanks! Aleksandra
Victor, my dear friend. I am always sad when I read most of your poems. I love that you are expressing yourself over poetry, I know that helps. I know you was sick the other days, but I am glad that you are better now. It makes me sad that in the poem is expressed that your time on earth is short. It is one situation where the reader can't say much about that part, even a friend to you. I know that you often listen the song Viva la Vida, and I remember on the poem what you wrote with the same title. And interesting how that song inspires you. With using the names as Saint Peter, God, etc, shows the spirituality of this poem, and your express your suffering Vic. But yes I am proud of you that you never left your faith in God. I wish you to be fine Vic. And I wished to be able to help you and change the way of your life. Take care my friend. tonyv
I, too, agree that these lines are powerful: I have less than ten years to explain Sophia to my nephews Mason and Jonah. I also think these are powerful and quite lyrical: It was the wicked wild wind that left me crying every night. Nice to see you back, Victor. goldenlangur
Hello vic, What is inspiring in your work, including this poem, is how despite your suffering, you're able time and again, to reach beyond the physical. Also, as religion and faith decline in our increasingly skeptical world as valid perspectives and world views, I find your strong faith and indeed search for mystical powers, be it in Sophia or a male God, deeply moving. I like how you personify your physical suffering in the elements It was the wicked wild wind that left me crying every night. Thank you for this. goldenlangur Quote goldenlangur Even a single enemy is too many and a thousand friends too few - Bhutanese saying.
