Tinker
So Far Away Marking the evening sky with its travel, a trail of magic passed overhead just now. The wonder of light in this winter night, directs my heart to think of you. The brief encounter carries a wish I dare not voice. Oh shooting star carry my silent words across the sky. ~Judi Van Gorder Written from a prompt, "shooting star" Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
tonyv
Hmmm, yes ... a wish/I dare not voice. "The dark of winter" -- it takes me there, but it makes me wonder. Why does the speaker want the star to carry her hope far? Is that good or bad?!? I want to know, but I enjoy the open-ended ambiguity. JoelJosol
'directs my heart to think of you' is a private moment that gave readers the mystery of the poem. We were just co-observers looking at the speaker's wonder.
