Tinker Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 When the Light Went Out Once her brilliance lit up the stage, the premiere ballerina. Now shards of fractured memories haunt the fragile lady in orange as she dances alone in her cell, hearing their song play over and over in her mind. His betrayal extinguished her flame. Some say, he displayed his heart like his shiniest ornament. dazzling but empty, hung to attract the lights and with his holiday done he would tuck the orb away, deep inside the box marked “Decorations”. Now, shattered by her bullet, it will dazzle no more. ~~ Judi Van GorderNotes ▼ Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
tonyv Posted December 2, 2018 Posted December 2, 2018 The title led me to believe this would be a story about an aging star who can't accept that the audience has moved on, but this turned out to be much more morbid than that. I can't help but to have sympathy for her and not for him ... Well written. I loved it. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic

dcmarti1 Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Shocking, simply shocking! :) I'm not sure if I have empathy for either him or her, but it makes for good reading. Quote
