dr_con Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Digits (Cueva de las Manos Painting 7’300 BCE, Santa Cruz, Argentina) Do you remember when we were talking The Fall from Grace the concreteness of Analog the liminal liquidity of Digital unencumbered by physics an entire civilization moving into the imaginal As the fire burned beneath incense and resin smell of wet stone acrid paints the tang of sweat the oxygen rich sweetness and the funk of loam our family gathered arm in arm breath enfolding breath And we were still basking in the afterimage of the Break The resulting Flash when the One became The Many under the weight of language and the utility of opposable thumbs and I grabbed the bone-pipe and said ‘I need a little light’ You let go my hand and reached for a single spark floating away from everything and I saw your hand in profile reaching for Matter returning to its source? Yeah, its like that. Quote thegateless.org

JoelJosol Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 I like the fluidity of the poem, dr_con. It just went smoothly from the opening, inviting the reader to join a private chat. I like the imagery of "a single spark/floating away from everything". Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
dcmarti1 Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 "funk of loam" Will never leave my mind. 😉 Quote
dr_con Posted April 11, 2019 Author Posted April 11, 2019 Excellent! A higher compliment can not be payed;-) I'm still obsessed by Rexroth's 'Vegetable Dark' 😉 Many Many Thanks! Quote thegateless.org
David W. Parsley Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Doc, the commentators all got it right, but I am sticking with, "This is really COOL!" There is so much about the entire sapient race here, but then you pull it down into an interlocked family. Then the zoom function focuses on a bone pipe, a single pair of parting hands, the urgent grasping of the narrator's essential Other for the substantial. And then that totally unexpected final line! Whew! Okay, dude, I don't know what zapped you this month, but I would like to request you do every April like this one. Okay? You'll need that much time to rest up for the next one... Keep It Coming, - David Quote
dr_con Posted April 24, 2019 Author Posted April 24, 2019 TY! My favorite, probably from this month of madness and experiments;-) Quote thegateless.org
