Feed the Hungry


They wait patiently in line
to later dine, so they stand.
Tuesday morning in my town
means brown paper bags with canned
foods and local farmer's fare,
caring turns a helping hand.

Yes, this is a nicely worded morning poem. I can picture the scene where even in a small town there can be otherwise unseen need. And you know how I feel about short poems, Judi. I like 'em!

Hi Tinker,

I resonate with all commentators on this string.  The brevity, lack of extraneous adornment, and apparent simplicity leaves the reader with no room to breathe outside the images you select, transmits powerfully and directly to the heart and conscience.
