prorogue - the putting off for a time
Apparently, according to the constitution, only the monarch can prorogue parliamentary action. This was challenged in the courts, the UK court said it was lawful, the Scottish court said unlawful, therefore it went to the UK Supreme court and was found unlawful. It seems the UK constitution is being challenged in this Brexit confusion.

I haven't been following the Brexit thing, but I suspect that globalists, the ultra-wealthy and powerful who have no allegiance to any country are the ones who are opposed to withdrawl from the EU.

It has certainly divided a country. There is also a generational divide. But then politics is divisive.

As an outside observer I am not emotionally connected to either side and I am fascinated by the process.  So alike and yet so different from our government.   But yes, clearly divisive.  Both of our countries need to find a middle ground.
