eclipse Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Tear on a sovereign on the finger of time, the koala climbs clear of extinction. Like a clock with an extra pair of hands the mother measures her offspring's demands. The moon emerges from night's twitching wings this asocial bear will emerge in stages from it's mothers pouch and be introduced to the day sleeping regime. The precarious bond between leaf and tree, koalas plight is a screen for thieves and non believers. Trees confluence of dreams about creating an ark to save this species of bear, fingertips of drowning men scrape the hull. Winds are powerless against wildfires, winter and summers eyes meet in the window of a watchtower, ghosts of casualties retreat seasons synergy will complete the recovery. Quote
tonyv Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 An unusual work. I like it even more than I expected when the title appeared on the board. I think it's the killer last line, which works in ways I can't quite express, that makes this one a hit. I love it. tonyv Posted February 22, 2020 Posted February 22, 2020 I see you've edited the poem and added some more lines, Barry. The line I was referring to was: "fingertips of drowning men scrape the hull." I love it. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
