dr_con
6 Impossible Things 4/6/YoP Con/Jur/d "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." TTLG&WAFT - L. Carroll 1871 With the way things are like always except more so The Reminders hang everywhere although invisible -- they are the only Things the World can see They Celebrate our Fragility while we finally get a chance to get good truly and deeply good at holding Space An opportunity to apply Gratitude and Acceptance to the Past while clarifying what gives us Appreciated Futures Oh and Time -- The Time to rid ourselves Of the 6 lies we tell before breakfast: The You who awoke is the same You as the One who went to sleep In the future You will be different You will never die You need not be reminded of Death The Self does not exist You are the Exception I’m feeling listless and uninspired with a slightly runny nose while bound indoors I hope my allergies are acting up. 1 Quote thegateless.org
tonyv
You capture the anxiety that seems to be endemic as of late with a relatable expression of the malaise: ... I hope my allergies are acting up. You've effectively helped this reader feel it. Tinker
Juris, So clear! I was right there with you. I finally took a Zyrtec and yes the allergy symptoms subsided. It is Spring. But in the midst of a pandemic, locked inside, the malaise overcomes the reasoning and stifles creativity. At least for me. It certainly didn't for you. This poem is thoughtful and clear and right on how many of us feel and think. This is a keeper. ~~Judi Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
