Lithium

Inspired by the song “lithium” sung by evanescence!

Lithium

I look in the mirror

the reflection is lost

here in the darkness

I can’t break free

till I let it all go.

Anything is better than to be alone.

My empty bed in the darkness

is so cold and all alone.

Lithium don’t lock me up

and let me dream

free the chains that bind me so

that keep me in this hell.

Lay me down so I can dream

away from the darkness

where I know myself.

Lithium I am going to let you go

to be free from the wind that blows.

Chills go down my spine

so I can stay in love with my soul.

I want to find my place amongst the ashes

I don’t want to forget how it feels

when I am so high on you.

I don’t want you to lock me up inside.

I want to stay in love with my soul.

I want to go to bed come to me

Lithium and control me tonight.

I never wanted this to be like this.

I drink just enough

to get lost in my thoughts

here in the darkness

I can’t break free till I let it all go

anything is better than to be alone.

Lithium sacrifice me.

I don’t want to forget

what you make me feel like.

Come to bed with me

I don’t want to let you go.

My dreams keep me alive.

I don’t want to forget how you feel.

Lithium I don’t want you to lock me up.

I don’t want to forget how you make me feel.

Lithium I don’t want to forget how you feel.

Lithium I don’t want you to lock me up inside.

Lithium I want to stay in love with myself.

I want to let it all go.

With all this emptiness in the dark

let it all show who I truly am.

Free me of this mask

that blankets my mind.

I wonder what is wrong with me,

I don’t want to forget how it feels.

Lithium I don’t want depression

to lock my soul away

to where there is no point of return.

Please bring me back to my sanity

so I can love once again.

Lithium let me feel once again

the air that we do breathe

and let me swim in the waters of the seas

where the fish do roam.

I will find my catch in the seas

of this used up world.

I will find love

and return to the light with a Lover.

You see Lithium this chemical imbalance

will be healed by you so I can be free

and feel once again. I’m gonna let you!

I enjoyed the way you address "lithium" in the poem. This is my favorite part:

Larsen M. Callirhoe wrote:

I will find my catch in the seas

of this used up world.

I will find love

and return to the light with a Lover.

I also like how, in the end, you declare, "I'm gonna let you!"

Wow I know this song if is this one click here

And I am listening now while I read and comment on your poem Vic.

I like this poem Victor, which contain nice expressions like this one:

I look in the mirror

the reflection is lost

here in the darkness

I love this line too:

anything is better than to be alone.

Your poem is emotional and works well with the song Lithium. You did a nice job Vic. I like it.

Just listened to it on you-tube.

A female singer....wow....gothic sounding......

as if was Christmas time outside.....

she's sexy looking but seems haunted by something....

now I know about one of your poems that says....breath underwater....

you really like this song !!
