Tinker Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 A poem written this morning as an example of a verse form Cornish Fourteenth Century Stanza but the content is appropriate for the day... Happy Easter! Sunrise Service Empty cross upon a hill, rising sun warms morning chill, joyful sounds fill the air. I stand within the faithful press In MaryJanes and yellow dress, age 8, I can only stare. ---Judi Van Gorder Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
rhymeguy Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I can see the young girl so clearly, too young to fully grasp the great significance of the service yet recognizing that something really special is going on. Besides she has a new dress- you don't get a new dress unless something is really important. Somehow I see all the adults in this picture in shades of grey. She alone is in color. Perhaps it is her innocents that makes her shine. Spiritually- Do we fade to shades of grey as the realities this life, like your rising sun, dawn upon us? Hmmmm? Love the picture that you have shared rg Quote

Tinker Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Thanks rhymeguy, yes I remember events by what I wore...it is true. I loved that yellow dress with the white collar. Nothing fancy but it was special to me. And the event made a lasting impression obviously. DC, Thank you. ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
