tonyv
I enjoyed the DALI MUSEUM in St. Petersburg, Florida (took the tour), and, in addition to the content and style, I was impressed by the various sizes (some were small, and many were like 30 feet high, floor to ceiling) of the works and by the sheer volume of them on exhibit. I remember one small work that Dali did when he was starting out; it was painted on a cut of burlap (from a fishing net in his fishing village) because he used whatever he could get for supplies back then. Also, there was a small, perfect still life of a basket of bread on a table. According to the tour guide, Dali painted it to shut up any critics who might be inclined to say that he couldn't paint anything "normal." Your poem brought it all back; thanks for that. Enjoyed the reference to "inner heat." Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
Frank E Gibbard
I envy you Tony, I have seen some works for real (no pun intended) but not a dedicated show. Thanks for the comments Tony.
